A customer in Wisconsin recently called about a circuit breaker job that was rapidly approaching in Louisiana.
Their high current set was in use on an existing job and they were cautious about arriving on the site in Louisiana without experience using our test set.
Fortunately we were able to come up with a two-step plan.
I sent an ETI PI-1600B high current set from my office in Illinois to their place in Wisconsin. Shipping was very cost-effective and the techs that would be traveling to Louisiana were able to familiarize themselves with the unit.
A few days later the Protec Equipment Resources office in Texas office shipped one of their PI-1600 units to their job.
Shipping costs were minimal, they were able to demonstrate their expertise from the moment they stepped onto the job, and everything went smoothly.

Today a customer called me with a last second emergency.
They were due to be onsite at a job at 7am and his company had a Doble TDR900 for the job, but did not have a transducer available.
This was a problem because the only way to save the job was to have the transducer arrive tonight, which is no small task for a company that isn't used to dealing with that type of logistical hurdle.
Fortunately we offer same day delivery services, so we sent a Doble TR3190 out and solved his problem. With one call to us he had a team dedicated to solving his problem and shorty thereafter logistics were solidified, the equipment was shipped, and a potential customer issue was prevented.

Recently I was called to a data center in downtown Chicago. They were commissioning that day and there were 10 guys on site when their power quality analyzer stopped working.
They went into scramble mode until one of the guys on the job mentioned that we were local and had the equipment they needed.
We ended up getting the call and one hour later we hand-delivered the equipment on site, provided support to make sure all went smoothly and headed back to the office to take care of the paperwork.

I was sitting with a customer in his office the other day and asked him why he always rented the Raytech WR50-12 unit from us when we had smaller, lighter, cheaper units available that were rated to do his jobs like the Raytech WR14 available.
He took the time to explain to me that when he is testing windings he likes to have the higher current available in order to test the load tap changers. So, while technically he could get the job done with 15A, 50A lets him do a more comprehensive job.
So Bob, thanks for the education!
