Reduce Shock Hazards and Downtime with the Megger 210415 Megohmeter

Posted by Protec Tech Team on

Megger 210415Insulators are designed to resist the flow of current from the central conductor towards the sheath of the electrical component, and protect the components from developing shorts or electrocution of personnel.

Insulators may develop defects that are not discernable after a while of continuous operation, and it is a beneficial to constantly check for defects to prevent unexpected down time.

When measuring for insulation resistance, a special device called a Megohmmeter is used.

The Megger 210415 15kV Analog Megohmeter tests insulation resistance with low- or high-voltage test voltages. The shielded high-voltage output cable is permanently attached to the unit to avoid damage to the unit. The Megger 210415 15kV Analog Megohmeter includes circuit breaker protection and redundant grounding connections for increased safety.

The unit is suitable for dielectric absorption and step voltage testing, and  measures up to 100,000 MΩ; provides output from 250 volts to 5 kV, with direct reading up to 50,000 MΩ at 2.5 kV.

The Megger 210415 15kV Analog Megohmeter provides direct reading measurements up to 100,000 MΩ at 5 kV and up to 200,000 MΩ at 10 kV, with a multiplying factor for all other voltages up to 15 kV.
